Wing Tsun and Other Martial Arts

‘Take it from someone with what they thought was martial arts training (having studied Ju-Jitsu, Taikwondo, Karate -over 5 years achieving Brown belt and 2 medals for Kent); being able to spin fly-kick the air doesn’t help you when faced with a real situation! After one lesson of Wing Tsun I had learnt practical self defence moves that actually worked! The  confidence that you get from learning a move in one lesson only makes you want to learn more and perfect your skills. Wing Tsun doesn’t just teach you to defend yourself, as other martial arts claim to do; moreover Wing Tsun trains your attitude to confrontation and improves confidence as you learn, making it ideal for anyone interested in changing their mind and body for the better.’

'I have 8 years experience of Wing Tsun, 10 years training of Wado Ryu Karate and 2 years of other Kung-Fu training. The Wing Tsun, as taught by Si-Fu Julian Hitch, is by far the most effective Martial Art I have come across. Sifu Julian, despite his tender years, is the best Martial Arts instructor I have come across in my time in the Martial Arts. The traditional Chinese teaching techniques, in my opinion, are far more effective than what is taught elsewhere. In the 5 years i have been taught by Sifu Julian my self defence capability has improved immensely. I can recommend Sifu Julian Hitch's schools to anyone seriously considering studying Martial arts.'

‘I have always been extremely interested in the martial arts, especially Wing Tsun. I decided at the beginning of this year to join the Julian Hitch MASE. The reason I joined this school was initially the flexible hours of attendance over four nights of the week. I soon found out that the teaching standards were excellent. I have found the Wing Tsun style to be a very comfortable one to learn as a beginner. There are three regular instructors under Si-Fu Julian Hitch that are excellent, friendly and extremely patient, all of which have been trained by Si-Fu. We as students are, of course, the beneficiaries of their dedication. Age has never been an issue and I believe I must be one of the oldest students in class but this has been totally irrelevant in training. Every student is treated equally and therefore there are no barriers.’

'Before starting Wing Tsun I spent 7 years learning Karate in which I obtained a first Dan Black Belt. I have also studied Ju-Jitsu and grappling. However, in my opinion Wing Tsun is the most effective martial art for self defence that i have come across and in many ways I wish I had the opportunity to begin my martial arts training with it all those years ago.'

Phil K, 28 from Bromley. IT Executive

‘I started martial arts at university, studying Aikido for 3 ½ years. When I returned to Bromley I happened to see a demonstration in the Glades. What I saw was my first glimpse of Wing Tsun. After a brief conversation with Si-Fu Julian I joined the club. From the start I found the classes enjoyable and informative, blending the right mix of Chinese culture and philosophy, modern applicability and fun! It wasn’t long before I decided that I would like to take my training further and become a Wing Tsun Master and instructor. I approached Si-Fu Julian and he agreed to accept me as a private student and teach me all I need to know. The Julian Hitch M.A.S.E offers something for everyone, whether they are after having fun, gaining fitness or becoming a Wing Tsun master, all the while giving you an ancient art that is applicable in modern life.’
