Si-Fu Julian Hitch oversees, and teaches, a 5 day residential unarmed combat course which offers unparalleled training methods to improve substantially your speed, power, co-ordination and automatic reflexes, in addition to your unarmed combat skills.
Never taught before in the UK
Taught in association with one of the country’s top bodyguard and close protection companies, it is an intensive, reality-based course, designed to give you the skills that normally take months, or even years, to develop. The course will teach information and skills not normally taught in our schools, along with expert tuition and guidance from other leading specialists, particularly in the realm of close protection.This training is a first for the UK; nowhere else is this kind of instruction available.
Comprehensive
Held in a fully equipped specialist training centre, the course includes not only 8 hours of tuition a day, but equipment, examination, meals, and accommodation in a 3* hotel. It is suitable for all levels and abilities, regardless of prior training and experience. On successful completion of the course, attendees will receive certification.
Security Professionals
The course is a must for all those interested in pursuing careers in security or close protection, and is designed to complement the existing close protection training. No professional is complete without appropriate training in this area.
Military methods
Si-Fu teaches the specialist methods of combat that are taught to the elite Eastern European military, including the Polish, Ukrainian, Hungarian and Lithuanian Special Forces. The other instructors all consist of ex-military trainers, who have over 18 years experience in this field, along with substantial real life experiences.
One-off opportunity
Si-Fu only normally teaches instructor and specialist students. However, in this course all students, regardless of level, will be taught personally by Si-Fu and will have the possibility to ask any questions that they may have
Course Overview
All attendees will be educated in the appropriate tactics and strategies required to be successful, as well as how to apply the knowledge to unforeseen circumstances. The course will also include:
Unarmed combat for bodyguards and security operatives
Unarmed defence against an attacker
Unarmed defence against multiple attackers
Unarmed defence against knives and other weapons
Unarmed defence against a gun
How to defend attacks against a third party (such as family & friends)
How to deal with the aftermath of an attack
How to apply knowledge to confined spaces (vehicles, crowds etc)
Legal and moral issues
The course will cover how to use the techniques and knowledge in a responsible way, along with the legal and moral issues involved.
Pressure testing
The techniques will be subject to intense pressure testing to ensure that each student has learnt them effectively and leaves with the confidence necessary to respond to a threat swift and effectively. At the end of the final day there will be a short written examination, followed by an examination of all the techniques and principles, lasting approximately 2 hours.

Discount for members
The course is available for the general public. Current members of the Julian Hitch Martial Art Schools of Excellence are welcome to attend and receive a 10% discount on the training.
Limited availability
It is advisable to book well in advance as places for this course are extremely limited, with the course being advertised nation-wide. To ensure the quality of the tuition, there is an absolute maximum number of 15 people per course, while generally only 10 are accepted.
