Wing Tsun Knife Defence

Our schools are specialists in teaching highly realistic knife defence. From psychology of surviving knife attacks, to the necessary techniques and force involved, all areas of this topic are covered.

Dangerous
Sadly one of the most dangerous and misunderstood areas in the martial arts, deep understanding and serious training is required to have a realistic chance of defence. Whilst, of course, there is no such thing as guaranteed defence - an unarmed person is always at a disadvantage against an armed person – certain techniques and strategies can seriously diminish the risk of harm and maximise the chances of success. Conversely poor techniques and tactics will undoubtedly endanger the life of the person using them.

Unique training system
The knife defence programme is not part of the traditional Chinese Wing Tsun syllabus. Specially designed by Master Máday Norbert, it is a unique training system, created over a 4 year period, based solely on Chinese Wing Tsun principles. Outside Eastern Europe, no other such knife defence system exists worldwide. A specialist Military knife-fighting programme was also created. Si-Fu Julian Hitch is one of only 2 people to learn these systems in private from Master Máday Norbert. Widely sought after, Si-Fu has since built a wide reputation for his skills in this area.

Military personnel
Designed and taught to Special Troops, undercover and plainclothes agents, emergency response and tactical units, the knife defence programme is already incorporated into the National Police training syllabus in Hungary (where all armed/unarmed defence is taught Chinese Wing Tsun practitioners), along with more secretive institutions. More information can be found on our Military and Police Training page.

Specialist training
Whilst this programme was specially created for security forces, in certain circumstances our schools may be willing to teach some aspects of this programme to civilians. Members of our schools have the possibility to attend seminars on civilian knife defence. Companies or associations wishing to find out more about training in this area should email:
