Good evening.

I must apologise for not writing much in the last two weeks. I’m afraid the aftermath of the Graduation, combined with the end of the year for Wing Tsun (and not to mention Christmas!) has meant that my time has been otherwise occupied.

I would, however, like to write a few words about the Graduation. Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone who turned up for making it such a special occasion. It was, as expected, completely full with not even one seat left empty. This was the fifth such Graduation that I have been privileged enough to preside over and, personally was the most enjoyable that I have been at.

Congratulations to those who graded and also to those who received awards – it was a record breaking year in many different ways. I was also pleased with the students who participated in the demonstrations – particularly as they had less than a week to prepare due to the other demands for Wing Tsun in December. The fact that the Dulwich school started the demonstration, only 6 months after the school opening just says it all.

I would like to end by saying an extra special thanks to the instructors and students who worked extremely hard over the last few months to make the occasion possible. All the planning, hard work and dedication was bought to fruition on the night, and I am looking forward to building on this for next year. The date of the Graduation 2008 will be announced in January so that everyone has a year to keep their diary free
