Good evening

This years Graduation will be held on Friday 14th December and is for all members of our schools and their family and friends. Please make sure that you put this date in your diaries, the instructors will be giving more details in due course, and a flyer will also be sent out in the post. As the hall is rather limited in space students will need to obtain tickets for the event.

All the students are expected there, so if you do have a problem attending please make sure that the instructors know straight away. I am aware that the date may not be ideal, as many people have their office parties around this time, but I promise you it will be worth the effort. You now have at least a month to negotiate with your bosses and arrange it for a different day anyway.

The aim of the graduation is to celebrate the achievements of the students throughout the year. There will be a presentation of certificates for all those that successfully passed the upcoming grading and this year we have a record number of people going for their Advanced and Technician grades. There will also be a few awards for excellent achievement, including the much coveted student of the year award – awarded to that person who has shown him/herself to be outstanding, not just in their improvement, consistent attendance and attitude, but also in the level of self development achieved. The identity of those achieving these honours will only be revealed at the graduation itself.

However, this year it will be an even more special event than normal; we are celebrating 5 years of the school establishing in Bromley.  There will be live demonstrations and as well as previously unseen Wing Tsun footage.

I believe that it is also important for students to bring along their friends and family to this event. While modesty is the basis of a true martial artist this does not mean that other people should not have the chance to see what that person has achieved. Being a member of a Kung Fu family is far more than just learning techniques, it’s about working together and supporting each other. I have never regarded my schools as ‘just a martial arts class’ and my students have proved me right time and time again. This event is also, therefore, a reflection on each and every student and their dedication to constantly improving themself.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Sifu

Ps. There will be, of course, also be complimentary drinks and snacks
