Good morning.
I would like to add one further point to my last post. As the Chi-Sau seminar will be the last seminar of the year I think that every student should be taking this opportunity to grade if at all possible. As I have mentioned before, I sincerely believe that it is important for every student to both set and try to achieve their targets for the year.
Skill in Wing Tsun only develops proportionally to the effort, planning and hard work that you put in; you have to be pushing yourself to achieve the highest possible skill that you can. The grading system offers a way of structuring this and setting your own personal targets (for more details on grading please see an earlier post). The Si-Hings and Si-Meis will be talking to all the students individually about what is required for them and what grade they should be aiming for. However, if you are unsure whether you are ready or have any questions please feel free to speak to them.
All the instructors have also kindly agreed to give up their time to teach extra private lessons for those that need extra help or would like some additional training. If you are interested in doing this I would suggest that you speak to them sooner rather than later as their time is limited.
The grading will be longer than normal, probably finishing around 6.30pm on the Sunday. This is because it is the one time in the year where students can be graded on the advanced grades – the Technician levels. It will also be a valuable learning opportunity for all those taking exams, as the last past of the exams will consist of advanced grading only. This means that the others watching will be able to not only learn from other people’s good points, and mistakes, but will also have a better idea of what will be required of them when they reach that level.
