Good evening.
I would like to thank the students who have contacted me, saying how much they enjoyed the recent seminar. Being a master can be, in many ways, a trying and difficult position (potential teachers take careful note…). Just because you have the best interests of the students at heart does not mean that it acknowledged or even appreciated (in fact I have come to expect the opposite). It is nice to know that this is not always the case
However, the seminar was not about me; it was about what you can achieve if you are dedicated, hard-working and have the right guidance. Too much about the world we live in is concerned with the domination of ‘rhetoric’ or ‘sales techniques’ (often at the expense of others) but the feeling from the seminar was far-removed from this. The students grappled with the tasks set with them admirably and with clearly apparent focus. Nice, eloquent words are one thing, but the actions that you take are what defines you. As Confucius said (and I have found to be very true) ‘I used to take on trust a man’s deeds after listening to his words. Now, having listened to a man’s words, I go on to observe his deeds.’
