Good morning.
I would like to give my very best wishes on this Christmas day

It is the one day, in the brief passage of time which is our life, when we can stop for a moment and appreciate those people whom we take for granted all year. For me, the spirit of Christmas is actually far removed from the commercial aspect. Whilst buying and giving plays a part, I believe that this is merely the periphery of a much more important ideal: Christmas is not about us, but rather about everybody else. As John Donne famously stated in one of his sermons: ‘no man is an island entire of himself’. We all need the help and support of the people around us; it is not possible for us to achieve what we do without it, and our life would be so much worse without those people in it.
Christmas is also a time to think about those less fortunate than ourselves. It would be really something if each and every person took a little moment to reflect on how they could help these people in some little way in 2009. To change the world sometimes just takes a little kindness…
