Good afternoon.
Later this week I will be teaching a four day seminar on the Wing Tsun Biu Jee form, which contains some of the highest level concepts, techniques and applications in the system. My seminar on this last year was the first time ever in Western Europe that a seminar on this topic was open to students of all levels.
In the history of Wing Tsun it has traditionally, over the last 300 years, only been taught to the most dedicated and highest level students. It is not for no reason that it is rarely taught; not only does it contain some of the most beautiful movements, but some of the most deadly. Indeed so secret was this form that the old master told their disciples ‘the Biu Jee never leaves the house.’
I know a lot of people that claim to have learnt and ‘mastered’ the Biu Jee, but the reality is that only a few people in the world understand the true meaning of the form. People can copy techniques, but they can never copy spiritual understanding. You need to know the philosophies and concepts to even have a chance of understanding the movements. At best most people have a bastardised version with no real meaning behind it, simply doing the movements like a puppet – similar techniques but no soul behind them. So misunderstood is the Biu Jee is that few people even understand the correct meaning of the word, let alone know how to apply it. The form contains a special force, special strategies and has a special meaning in the Wing Tsun system. I am extremely fortunate and grateful that my Sifu took a substantial amount of his time and energy to ensure that I both understood and learnt it correctly.
Last year the Biu Jee was perhaps the best seminar that I have ever taught - but I have a feeling this one will supersede it.

It is highly unlikely that I will be repeating the seminar so I hope my students will make the most of the opportunity. Even my most senior students are not often taught this by me and this will allow everyone to not only learn the whole form, applications, and the philosophy underpinning it, but see the whole Wing Tsun system in a different perspective. 15 hours of training on this is something I could only have wished for when I started Wing Tsun.
