Good morning.

I would like to say a few words about the demonstration at Dulwich Picture Gallery on Thursday. When you do a large amount of demonstrations you find that each one has different characteristics; I am happy to day that this one had a lovely relaxed atmosphere with perfectly charming people. If you still haven’t had the chance to visit the Gallery I thoroughly recommend it – it is in an absolutely beautiful setting, not to mention the special art on display. The Gallery, founded in 1811, is also the UK’s oldest public picture gallery.

I would like to thank the organisers for an excellent and enjoyable evening. Particular thanks go to Anna for both the invitation and all the hard work that made the night possible. I sincerely believe that appreciation of other cultures is essential in a civilised and humane society and I am proud to be part of all the hard work that Dulwich Picture Gallery has put in to make this possible. (Again if you visit them you will be able to see the diverse range of exhibitions showing some of this). With too many countries and cultures only interested in ‘modernising’ and forgetting their own heritage (which alas is happening in China as well) this kind of exhibition becomes all the more poignant.

Thank you also to all the students that turned up, I am pleased to say that you showed the real face of Chinese Kung Fu to the public.

On a separate note, there was quite a number of trial sessions booked for the Dulwich class and I look forward to meeting those people again.
