Busy

Good afternoon.

I must apologise once again for my lack of posts. The summer is turning out to be extremely busy for me. However, I will make sure that I catch up in the next few days.

Good morning.

The photographs from the recent demonstration in Dulwich College are now in the gallery. There have been some slight readjustments to the gallery – the latest albums are now at the top of the gallery (as opposed to before where they were on the second page). The albums are, therefore, in reverse date order. This amendment was implemented to make it easier for students (and others) to see the latest additions.

There have also been a number of other improvements to the site, including a new page for prospective students. Please feel free to ...

In the auditorium...

Good afternoon.

Further to my post yesterday, I have one more event to mention that took place over the weekend. To cap-off an excellent weekend we were invited by the Empire Cinema Bromley to provide a demonstration for them in the actual auditorium itself. This was a first for Empire Cinemas (and I have to say a rather innovative idea), with our exhibition taking place 15 minutes before the screening of the film. The aim was to celebrate the recent release of Kung Fu Panda (albeit a few weeks after the event) as well give the audience an appreciation of authentic Kung Fu. We provided two showings, one on each day, and I am happy to say both were extremely well received. There are future demonstrations planned with Empire Cinemas so keep watching this space…

Bromley Arts Festival
Si-Fu's Blog By Si- Fu onMonday, July 14, 2008
Greetings on this beautifully sunny morning.

In the next few days I will be talking about the recent seminar. I apologise for not writing sooner, but I’m afraid the aftermath of the seminar has meant that I have been extremely busy. Today, however, I would like to mention the events that took place over the past weekend. On both Saturday and Sunday we were invited to be part of the Bromley Arts Festival, celebrating local performing arts and the creativity of the London Borough of Bromley in general. The event took place in the town centre in the Market Square, conveniently only a 1 minute walk from our school. Although Saturday was rather drab and chilly weather wise, it was excellent to see such a good turn out from the audiences. Having a marquee and stall in the Market Square on both days it was also lovely to have to the opportunity to meet so many ...

Dulwich College

Good afternoon.

On Saturday the schools were invited to give demonstration for Founders Day at prestigious public school Dulwich College. Having begun my Wing Tsun career there it was an honour (and indeed rather nostalgic) to be invited back. We were extremely lucky with the weather, what was forecast as heavy rain earlier in the week turned out to be a day of glorious sunshine. It was also rather poignant that the demonstration in fact took place at the very location that I last performed a demonstration, on my last day of school all those years ago. History has a funny way of repeating itself...

It was fortunate to spend my school years in such an excellent establishment as Dulwich. I won’t pretend that there were never any problems; with a s ...

Good afternoon.

As promised I will give a few more details about the forthcoming seminar. Each day will be teaching particular parts of the Wing Tsun – but the difference from classes is that I will be teaching in far more detail than is ever normally taught. On the Wednesday, for instance, I will not only be teaching different punching methods and the reasons for there differences, but also the famous ‘inch punch.’ For those who are int ...

Good evening.

Next week sees the beginning of the Summer Seminar - taking place between the 2nd and 6th July. If you haven’t already received a brochure please contact the schools. For those students who have not yet attended a seminar you might find it useful to look at the webpage about it. However, in short they are one-off events, available (and indeed recommended) for students of all levels.

The seminar will be the equivalent of a summer camp and as such will be a special event. This is because each day ...
