| Good morning. The topic I wish to discuss today is that of goal-setting. Although it is rather late to be writing about this (I had indeed planned to write about this some time ago), I feel it still has some relevance. This is particularly true for the new students that have joined the school, so that they begin their new journey in the martial arts in the correct way. However, it is also pertinent to the existing students, as it is only by constantly reviewing your targets that you can see whether you are achieving them. My advice here is in relation to Wing Tsun training, but the same strategy and ideas can be applied to life and goals in general. I should start, however, by saying that there are many different ways of approaching this and my w ... | | |

| Good morning. Further to my post yesterday, it was nice to see the new students training hard in class last night The instructors in charge of enrolment have also just informed me that a few places have come available for our schools. This is good news for those that couldn’t make the trial lessons last week as due to the overwhelming response we were at capacity. I will therefore be holding another couple of talks and trial lessons this week – namely tonight and on Thursday. If you haven&rs ... | | |

| Welcome... | | Si-Fu's Blog

| Good afternoon. I would like to say welcome to all the new students that have joined the schools following our recent open day. If you haven’t already done so, please take a few moments to introduce yourself to the other students. It is by working with your fellow students that you not only achieve the best results but have the most satisfaction from your training. Having made sure that I met all the new students personally, I’m happy to say that I think that everyone will fit in well. I have mentioned this before, but you should take the time to study the etiquette and the background to the art. Never forget that Wing Tsun is a noble art; it only exists if you act in a way that reflects it. Many people can (and do) dumb down the marti ... | | |

| Good morning. I would firstly like to say thank you for all the help in the open day from the students and instructors. Everyone worked extremely hard and made it a pleasant and enjoyable day. Particular thanks should go to instructors; they were there for the whole day and in some cases from 7am. I would also like to send my greetings to the people I met. It was rewarding to speak to such a large number of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, all interested in the same topic. I hope that I managed to answer your questions – if you have any others please feel free to email me or ask me at the free sessions this week. Lastly, as c ... | | |

| Building the right way... | | Si-Fu's Blog

| Greetings on this bright sunny morning. On Monday evening I visited the Dulwich class again. It was pleasing to see that their standard was much improved from even the last time I saw them. My message to the students is this: make every effort to train regularly at Si-Mei’s classes – you have an excellent and talented instructor and it would be an absolute shame to waste the opportunity that you have. I know Si-Mei is often too modest and does not promote herself enough, but if you ask her im sure you will also have the possibility to take private lessons with her. I would also like the students to help build the school even further. It is my belief that it is also the responsibility of every student to ensure both the survival of the system and to let others know about the chance that they have had. If you go and speak to Si-Mei im sure she would welcome any hel ... | | |

| Uphold the art | | Si-Fu's Blog

| Good morning. Well done to those new students who attended my instructor class on Saturday – you survived. It was hard training – 3 ½ hours without a break is not easy for students of any level. Please just remember the etiquette and rules of the art are the most important – without this the art does not exist. Next time I am expecting this to be improved; if you train in a private class with a master nothing short of perfection in this area is acceptable. Sifu | | |
