Apprenticeship with Si-Fu Julian Hitch

Our apprenticeships are based on old-fashioned principles; students are required to pay for their tuition and learning in accordance with the tradition of the ancient masters. Apprentices benefit from in-depth study under Si-Fu’s personal guidance and tuition. All the details will be explained on being short-listed for an interview.

Once in a life time opportunity
Si-Fu Julian Hitch is offering a once in a life time opportunity for people to learn the whole system from him - from beginner to master level. It is open to all levels and abilities, with no previous martial art experience required. Existing students are also able to apply.

Only 5 places available
There are only five places available on the apprenticeship as we take the development of the apprentice very seriously. There are no set deadlines for applying as such, but when the places are full no more applications will be accepted, regardless of merit. Our schools operate a strict policy of only selecting the students that have the right attitude and will conduct themselves in the appropriate manner.

In-depth study
The apprenticeship is appropriate for those people that wish to master the art of Wing Tsun – from the spiritual understanding to the perfection of the physical techniques and mastery of the body. It is particularly relevant for those that have a passion for martial arts and have the desire to teach in the future (although the latter is not a prerequisite). As it is taught on a personal basis the exact requirements of an apprentice will depend on individual circumstances.

Personal Guidance
Applicants that are accepted will be under Si-Fu’s personal guidance and tuition – something which only occurs in a few cases and only when those selected students reach advanced levels. Si-Fu, along with help from the other teachers, will make sure that the apprentice understands not only the techniques, but the theory, history and philosophy behind them. The apprentice will be continually assessed to ensure that he or she receives the highest possible education and training in the art.

Interview
Selected applicants will be short-listed for an interview which will be conducted by Si-Fu and his senior instructors. During the interview, the apprenticeship will be explained in detail, with the applicant free to ask any questions. The applicant will also be given information to take home before s/he makes a decision whether to progress further. Please note that there is no commitment or obligation to accept the apprenticeship upon applying.

Successful applicants will then be given a trial period to see whether they are suitable, at the end of which there will be a formal test and interview before a final decision is made. While this may sound daunting, our aim is to build on our apprentices’ talents and provide them with the tools which will develop their abilities as a person and martial artist.

Equal opportunities
We believe very strongly in equal opportunities; applicants from all ages, gender and backgrounds will be considered.
